The CFT team comprises industry innovators who passionately believe in this qualification and its huge benefits for professionals striving in technology and finance. As a professional body, we work to influence the design and development of the latest technology platforms within financial services. We either currently work in global investment banks and technology firms or have amassed years of experience there.
Our management team
Sanjay is the Chief Executive Officer of The Certificate in Finance and Technology. He is a globally recognized leader in the technology space of financial companies. He has developed and delivered training programs in finance and technology for world leading organizations such as Credit Suisse, Nomura, RBS, Barclays, Fidelity and JP Morgan, for over 10 years. Before this, Sanjay managed the eTrading platform at Bank of America and worked at Merrill Lynch London where he built and maintained trading and risk platforms for their rates desk.
Rob is an accomplished financial trainer with 20 years of experience designing and delivering training programs to firms across investment banking, sales and trading, wealth management and asset management. These include Credit Suisse, Barclays, Nomura and Terra Firma. Rob majored in computer science and brings a unique combination of knowledge and experience that enables him to create tailored, focused course content and examinations that address the needs of technology staff within financial services companies. He is very excited to be part of the CFT senior management team enabling the delivery this long overdue qualification.
Amber is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and Microsoft Certified Professional Developer with 14+ years of experience working with and teaching Microsoft technologies. She also works to bridge the gap between developers, designers and businesspeople with her expertise in visual communication, user experience and business/professional skills. For her work as a training leader, Amber received Training magazine’s 2013 Emerging Training Leader award.
David has over 20 years of experience designing and delivering training programs on fixed income markets, derivative securities and risk management for a wide range of clients, including investment banks, derivatives exchanges, financial market regulators and technology companies. After training as an economist, he worked as a lecturer in finance at the University of Exeter and Warwick Business School before becoming Director of Academic and Professional Education at the ICMA Centre at the University of Reading. For the past decade, he has run his own training consultancy. David is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and experience of fixed income and derivative markets with CFT candidates.
Mark brings more than 25 years of leadership in the banking sector. He has held senior roles in research and sales technology at JP Morgan and finance architecture at RBS. He has employed his expertise in architecture to implement innovative solutions in risk management and financial reporting. Mark prides himself on his ability to take a complex process and break it down into its core components to build exceptional, efficient and robust technology solutions. Mark shares his wealth of knowledge and insights with CFT students as our lead author and tutor of software engineering and data science.
CK has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and business analysis. He has delivered multiple cloud based Management Information Systems to businesses in various countries including the US, Canada and India. He has several years of experience training corporate employees in the field of Technology and Information security. He has a keen interest in new and effective coding methodologies and security.
Cate McCoy, PMP, PBA, CBAP
Cate has worked as project manager, business analyst, and programmer within business intelligence projects. She has steered technology projects through the complete software development life cycle for non-profit, private industry and government clients. Cate’s unique niche is in creating synergy between business and technical departments to achieve outstanding results. Cate is lead instructor for CFT’s project management and business analysis modules.
Matthew is a software consultant with over 15 years of professional experience building large-scale data-driven desktop, server, and cloud-based applications. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with double degrees in Computer Science and Philosophy with a minor in Economics and a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Matthew is the creator of several open-source software projects including Data Explorer, an open-source interactive data visualization tool. In addition, he regularly speaks at software and technology conferences on topics including Agile software development practices, code craftsmanship, and data science. He is one of the few global experts on data analysis and R.
Milko is a payments expert in the areas of payment systems, card payments, e-banking and has a strong interest in innovative payment solutions and technology. Milko brings broad industry experience, having undertaken roles as Business Analyst, Business Architect and Consultant in global payments projects. Milko holds an MBA with focus on finance and strategic management from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. He enjoys helping technologists working for financial institutions better understand the success factors in the industry in order to provide a better banking environment.
Ali has worked with global investment banks, wealth managers, fund managers and sovereign wealth funds in designing and delivering programs for analysts, associates and more specialized courses for senior employees. He has trained extensively in the Middle East and the United Kingdom, and is currently based in Dubai, UAE. Ali is a CFA charterholder and brings a wealth of experience in designing and delivering training courses on a range of professional qualifications targeted towards the banking and finance sector.
Ken is one of our key content authors specializing in the production of the manuals to accompany the online course material. For over a quarter of a century, Ken has worked in many different industries providing technical writing and content development. He has a unique perspective having worked for tech start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. His goal is to bridge the gap between the developer and the end user while providing a high attention to detail and consistency.
Kavi is an accomplished facilitator, bridging the gap between technologists, designers and end users with his expertise in visual communication, user experience and digital marketing. He has over 5 years of experience working within the technology and marketing industry and has a keen desire for sharing the knowledge and insights that he has gained. He strives to provide true value to his clients, be that in the form of consulting solutions or when he is conducting training.

Kristen Giovanniello is a Product Manager at Fidelity Investments in the Prime Brokerage division. She is currently running their Prime Broker Optimize product, which brings transparency to previously opaque markets.
Prior to her role as a Product Manager, she held a variety of positions within Fidelity Capital Markets. She has vast experience in working with Fixed Income and Equity Syndicate groups.
Kristen received her Bachelors of Arts from Dartmouth College. She currently holds her Certificate in Finance and Technology and is working towards completing the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Sean Ring has spent the past 22 years in and around banking, working in New York City, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He is the Vice President of Talent Development for Credit Suisse in Hong Kong. Sean also co-founded Finlingo, a financial training app, that launches in 2018.
Sean is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), a Certified FRM, and Chartered Member of the CISI (MCSI), an AWAI Verified™ Copywriter and a Certified Practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Step I and II. He also holds a certification in Ethical Decision Making for Investment Professionals from the CFA Institute. Sean is a graduate of both Villanova University (BSBA in Finance) and London Business School (MSc in Finance).

Nick was appointed Chief Technology Officer, EMEA at Nomura in June 2016 and is responsible for many aspects of Nomura’s technology strategy. Nick is a member of Nomura’s European IT Executive and chairs the EMEA IT Graduate and IP Welfare committee and heads the EMEA IT Innovation initiative.
Prior to this role, Nick was Enterprise Infrastructure Services Global Head of Web & Software Engineering for a number of years in a career in technology spanning more than 25 years, having started as a junior COBOL programmer. He has diverse sector experience in central and local government, consulting, retail banking and capital markets
